The purpose of this event is to promote access to sailing for women. This is a beginner sailing event.
This is a full day of sailing for women interested in sailing in the area. There will be two sessions with 20 participants in each session and a lunch that both groups of participants are invited to attend. The morning session is from 9:30am to 12:30pm, then lunch from 12:30pm to 1:30pm and finally the second session from 1:30 to 4:30pm.
This day is intended for beginner sailors and every participant will be paired with an experienced sailor, so no experience is necessary. SailMaine will provide participants with lifejackets, but each participant should plan to wear comfortable clothing so they are able to move easily. Close-toed shoes are recommended. Please bring warm clothes and/or rain gear depending on the weather! Sunscreen is also a good idea.
Both sessions are invited to a catered lunch and our keynote presentations from 12:30-1:30pm.
Morning session from 9:30 to 12:30 (ages 12-30)
Lunch hour 12:30 to 1:30
Afternoon session from 1:30 to 4:30PM (ages 30 and up)
SailMaine is proud to make this a GREEN event. Please bring a reusable water bottle and we will supply plastic-free dinnerware etc. We will strive to reach the highest level on the Sailors for the Sea Clean Regatta Checklist and welcome any volunteers for our Green Team!
