At SailMaine, we’re committed to providing affordable sailing opportunities. Whether you’re looking to learn the basics, test your racing skills, explore Casco Bay, or you just want a convenient way to sail with family and friends without the expense of boat ownership, SailMaine has a program for you.
Group Lessons
OUR 2026 SEASON STARTS MAY 26th!
Jump on a J22 sailboat with an instructor and other sailors (3 students max). Bring a friend or be paired with other interested sailors. Lessons run 10:30am-1:30pm, 2:00-5:00pm, and 5:30-7:30pm most days.
$249/person, 3hr class
$175/person, 2hr class

3 different time slots, every day all summer long!

Private Lessons
OUR 2025 SEASON STARTS MAY 26th!
Private lessons are for those who would like be one-on-one with the instructor. The curriculum for a lesson is decided by the participants. Lesson start times are flexible.
Rates are based on a 1:1 ratio. Cost is per person. No charge for children under 14 who are “additional” students. (e.g.: 2 people for 2hrs would be $500; bringing along someone under 14 would be free)
Private lessons are $125/hr (2hr minimum)

Coastal Cruising
Introducing ZEPHYR! Learn the basics of cruising on our new C&C 32.
If you are looking to sail a bigger boat and want to explore Maine’s coast this is for you. Our licensed captains will take you for a full day cruise and introduce concepts, systems, and skills to make your cruising dreams come true. Participants must be skipper-certified on our J22s before joining; this is a not a “learn to sail” class.
ZEPHYR may also be chartered.
