SailMaine and the Gulf of Maine Ocean Racing Association (GMORA) have teamed up to present a new sailing opportunity in Casco Bay. The SailMaine regatta matches Junior, High School, College, and other sailors who've spent some time in our programs with some of the best larger boat sailing teams involved in the recreational Gulf of Maine Ocean Racing Circuit.

The course is in the vicinity of Portland Harbor. There will probably be great views of the action from Fort Allen Park on the Eastern Promenade. After the sailing, there's a Pig Roast and party under the tents at Portland Yacht Services that is open to the Racers and to the public. Dinner tickets are $20.00 in advance, $25.00 June 6th.

The regatta is open to all boats that want to race, as an introduction to both SailMaine and GMORA. It serves as a tune-up for the circuit racing that begins officially June 13th with the Centerboard Regatta and continues on through the Summer months. We're hoping that both boats and crew who haven't jumped in to circuit racing in the Gulf of Maine will be tempted to give it a try.

Regatta entry fees are $40.00 per boat. SailMaine sailors pay a $20.00 participation fee, which includes dinner and an event tee-shirt.
