Lawrence A. White Trophy/ISSA Fall U.S. Coast Guard Academy

Doug Clark, Director of Sailing at USCGA was the Regatta PRO. Special thanks to CGA Cadets for running 12 great races and moving many marks around to keep course square. Also thanks to Cadets on shore helping with scoring, and boat rotation.

REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Saturday saw NNE winds 10-15 knots all day. A-Division sailed 420's and B-Division Sailed FJ's. 10 races were sailed in each division using modified triangles that ranged from 15-18 minutes in length.
Sunday brought 18 -22 knots and gusting from the same direction. 420's only with one division on the water. Races 11 and 12 were sailed in each division. A-Division started race 13 and the breeze built to 25+. Several boats capsized and turtled and although 18 of 20 boats finished the race, the regatta was called and that race did not count. There were two dsq's, one redress and no breakdowns.

Congratulations to the Christchurch School, Christchurch, VA on a DOMINATING performance by winning 17 of 24 races and 88 points ahead of second place Monsignor Donovan HS, Toms River , NJ. The regatta was well represented with twelve different states of the twenty schools sailing.
