SailMaine maintains a Google Group for Cape Elizabeth sailors and friends to use for keeping up to date on regattas, practices, and other team events. Coaches and SailMaine staff use the list server to let team members know about cancellations, upcoming events, and more. Parents and Sailors often use the groupto make travel arrangements, plan cook outs, and just stay in touch. You should join the group if you plan to be active with Cape Elizabeth High School Sailing. Send an e-mail to sign up. To unsubscribe, send an e-mail here. You can also visit the group's page here to subscribe or unsubscribe.
All interested students from Cape Elizabeth High School are welcome as team members. No experience is necessary. Unlike many High School sports, the CEHS Sailing Team offers a Learn to Sail level (in the Fall only) in addition to a Varsity sailing team. High School sailing is one of the few school sport activities where girls and boys can compete with each other on equal terms. The CEHS Sailing Team practices at SailMaine, located at 58 Fore Street on the Eastern Prom in Portland. SailMaine is a non-profit sailing program that supports High School racing, adult sailing and junior sailing. SailMaine provides 36 Collegiate 420 class sailboats, access to the water, instruction, equipment, scholarships and sailing school facilities.
